Nuno is quite the character.   Great addition to the podcast!

Dweezil

Hi Abram,

He sure is! Glad you're enjoying it.

Gary D.

I know it's a super small detail, but I always thought the ending of So This Is Love was such a cool thing. I didn't fully appreciate what those last two notes were until I heard the isolated track without the bass.

Also kind of surprised you only touched on the main riff for Unchained. Beyond the main riff is where it really gets out there and twisted. Maybe with Billy Corgan?

Dweezil

There’s always so much to discuss! It’s so true the 3 against 4 part is great, it becomes difficult to discuss and explain and I don’t recall how deep Billy and I discussed it.

The Billy episode is very different from the Nuno episodes.

Gary D.

Thanks for the reply. Really loving these podcasts. I also became obsessed with VH when I was 12 in 1980. I was fascinated by every little noise on those early records.

I can't wait until you can perform live again. I've seen ZPZ twice and I'm holding on to my ticket for the Stroudsburg show. Those shows also mean a lot to me. I didn't discover Frank until the 90s but I went deep into his music.

Dweezil

Hi Gary,

It's a small world and music connects us in many ways. Hopefully, we will be able to return to playing live. Thanks for your support.

Mark A.

This was a fantastic pt2, Dweezil. Like others said...well worth the wait. I’ve always loved Fair Warning but I have a brand new perspective and love for it. I feel like a teenager again. Keep up the good work!

This is an amazing experience- thank you for all your insight, hard work & TLC on this project- nothing but ❤️ brother!

Steve S.

Great episode! Worth the wait!

I like how you're blending in the songs playing more while you guys are describing them.

Fab S.

Nuno is more awesome than I thought! Very insightful.

“If you don’t f-ing get Fair Warning, then you’re a f-ing fair weather Van Halen fan.” ... priceless

I am having a bit of an issue with episode 7. I purchased it earlier and listened to half of it and tried to come back and listen to it just now and the link via the order doesn't link to the episode. When I go back out to the Runnin' with the Dweezil main page it shows up with the purchase button instead of the download button. Anything I can do?

Dweezil

Hi Caleb,

Yes, we can help. It's possible that happened because the file was corrected with a new audio file. I'll get that sorted for you right now.

Bill J.

Cant wait for 1984

Dweezz best eddie solo is hot for teacher!!

Love your pod cast!!

Daryl C.

Wow! These episodes of RWTD are making me go back and relisten to these classic albums with a different pair of ears. Absolutely loved episodes 6 and 7 with Nuno talking about Fair Warning, which I think we can all agree was VH's best work. Thank you Dweezil!

Fab S.

Undoubtedly, FW is Ed at his best!

Jurre

Fantastic episode: Part 2 of Fair Warning

I had tears in my eyes by your sneak preview from Edward solo........

Dweezil thanks again for all your work

Dweezil

Hi Jurre,

I'm glad you enjoyed it. When you hear all of the notes he played on that record you will enjoy it even more! Best, DZ

Fab S.

Somebody get me a shot ... of Dweezil and Nuno rapping about FW, stat!

Lee R.

Dweez - LOVE the pod and worth every penny. I'm an early years guy myself and just wondered - any plans to do one on a Different Kind Of Truth? I like a lot of fans love that album and obviously there's a lot to dive into there what with some of it being original, some of it being from the demos and some of it being from elsewhere.   All the best and keep up the good work!

Dweezil

Hi Lee,

Thanks for reaching out. Yes, we will be doing at least one episode about A Different Kind Of Truth. I will be talking with John Shanks, the producer of the album. Maybe if we all get really lucky, Wolfgang will join us for an episode or 2.

Jay P.-P.

When they’re ready (the episodes), I’m ready.
Meanwhile I’ll be upgrading to the Silver Subscription to access all the goodies.
Thank you “Dweez” for such an awesome insight to this stuff.

Randall B.

Ditto on the "Thank you..."

This has been kinda priceless on the "You Might Have Listened To This One Too Many Times..." front. Just the discussion on where "Gibson Scale Length..."/"Ed's 'Main' Guitar..." were on the recordings, and the hunt for if any telltale signs of trem bar have put a smile on my face.

Never mind the whole "This Sounds Like 'Less' Gain..." and pinch harmonics discussion.

Past that? Get well soon!

Mark A.

We’re patiently waiting outside the UMRK ready to storm if this episode doesn’t come out soon!

Dweezil

Lady Gaga owns the UMRK now and she might think you're stalking her! I'm sorry for all the delays on top of working on the episode I started feeling under the weather. Fortunately it's not covid. It did slow me down though and I'm just getting back on my feet.

Eric A.

Lord get this poor boy an assistant!

Bill J.

What time today will new episode begin?

Dweezil

Hi Bill,

I'm still working on it! It's got some very elaborate post-production! I'm not exactly sure what time I'll be finished. I wish I could give you a better answer. I won't be able to do this much post on future episodes but Fair Warning deserves it!

Ørjan K.

It's Thursday. New episode today?

Dweezil

Hi Orjan,

I have been working hard to get it finished but unfortunately I still have more to do. Sorry for the delay. Check out my blog for a little more info.

Mark C.

Yep me too. Can’t access it, only the 13 minute teaser.

Dweezil

Hi Mark,

Your access will depend on the package you purchased. If you have the Early Years bundle you will will be able to access the episodes from within the Early Years Bundle player and likewise for the 5150 bundle. Please try accessing your content from the corresponding player. If you still have issues I'm sure we can help you sort them out.

Mark C.

Boom!! Found the link. Thank you sir.

btw heard a very early gig and there’s like a car horn thing in the crowd. Just like VH1. Was that where the idea came from??

Thomas M.

That live Mean Streets intro variant is so, so cool. If I came up with that, I'd be playing it everywhere...grocery store, parent-teacher conferences, confessional box. And yet it seems to be the only time he's done it. A throw-away. Damn! The Mean Streets intro is from another dimension. And you guys are right, nobody has taken that concept to another level, even all these years later. I can only hope there is a proper recording (audio, dare I dream, video) of that live variant somewhere. Thanks for the find and these great interviews.

Just amazing. Hair brush
